Dental emergencies can happen. We're here to help.

Treat you like family

When you need emergency dental care or if you’re looking for a dentist who can see you the same day, contact The Grove City Center for Dentistry.

We understand that sometimes, you may have a dental emergency or problem that can’t wait and you need an appointment the same day. Maybe you chipped your tooth biting down on something, or your child was accidentally hit in the mouth during a sports event. At The Grove City Center for Dentistry, we understand that there are just some moments in life that simply can’t wait for an appointment in a few days.

Dr. Bryan Simone and Dr. Kyle Lowe, and our incredible dental team are here to help you and your family when those situations arise. When you need an emergency dentist, call us immediately after your problem occurs and we will work hard to see you as quickly as possible.

What is a dental emergency?

Dental emergencies come in all shapes and sizes. These are the most common dental emergencies we see at The Grove City Center for Dentistry:

  • A lost dental filling that causes pain
  • Missing teeth from trauma (car accident, sports injury)
  • A broken or chipped tooth that causes pain
  • Toothache and extreme pain
  • Swollen, painful jaw with tooth or gum pain
  • Dry socket from a dental extraction
  • Painful, swollen gums
  • dental crown that has fallen out and causes pain or sensitivity

What is not a dental emergency?

While we understand that some dental problems can’t wait, other issues can. For every patient, we appreciate that your pain level and dental situation is unique. That’s why we look at every patient’s concerns individually and with care and empathy.

At our office, our team typically considers the amount of pain you are in and the severity of your injury to determine if it is an emergency or not. Below are some examples of a dental situation that is not an emergency.  However, if you experience any of these issues, please call the same or next business day so we can schedule you for an exam.

  • Lost fillings that do not cause pain
  • Cracked or chipped tooth that does not cause pain
  • Issues with crowns, veneers, or dental bridges

If you are not sure if your tooth problem is an emergency, just call us.  We are so happy to talk with you about your symptoms, identify your pain level, and decide if we need to see you immediately.

When should I see a dentist for tooth pain?

We are asked this question a lot!  If you start to experience pain in your gums, a single tooth or multiple teeth, please do not wait until the pain is unmanageable or unbearable.  Call us immediately at 614-875-3141 so that we can get you in and examine your mouth to identify what is causing your pain.

For many of our patients, they have been feeling their symptoms for multiple days and then call our office when they are in extreme pain. In most cases, if you call us when the first symptoms appear, we are able to schedule an appointment and prevent further pain or complications.

When should I go to the ER for dental emergencies or tooth pain?

If you have experienced severe trauma to your face, jaw or mouth and you have extensive cuts or bleeding in your mouth or other complications, go straight to the emergency room. Depending on any procedures performed at the hospital, you may need to schedule a follow-up appointment with Dr. Simone or Dr. Lowe at our office to complete any necessary dental restoration or repairs.

Do you have same-day appointments at The Grove City Center for Dentistry for dental emergencies?

We understand that your emergency or increase in pain can happen at any time. That’s why we reserve space in our day for dental emergencies or same-day appointments for our current patients. If you are a prospective or new patient, we will still try to see you as quickly as possible, in many cases that same day.
